Working with kids with anxiety?

This comprehensive webinar will bring you the latest evidence and current best practice, as well as practical strategies and resources you can use right away when supporting kids with anxiety.

This webinar has been developed by Caitlyn Cowie (Clinical Lead) and Jackie Sikic (Practice Principal), occupational therapists at Kid Link OT. Both are endorsed mental health practitioners with extensive experience supporting children, young people, and families.

Who this webinar is for:

  • Allied health clinicians working in paediatrics wanting to build their knowledge and confidence in supporting children and young people with anxiety (most relevant for ages 4–18 years).
  • Allied Health University students with an interest in paediatric mental health are also welcome to attend.

What you will learn:

This webinar will support you to deepen your understanding of best practice when supporting children and young people experiencing an anxiety disorder - which will be met through the following objectives:

  • To understand the difference between typical anxiety and an anxiety disorder.
  • To be aware of the different types of anxiety disorders commonly diagnosed in children and young people, and their prevalence.
  • To understand how anxiety disorders are assessed and diagnosed.
  • To develop your ability to engage in care planning by collaboratively setting functional goals with children and families, and understanding the roles of different clinicians within the care team.
  • To feel more confident in making treatment choices and delivering support in line with best practice.
  • To build your toolbox of session ideas, strategies, resources, and handouts you can use immediately in day-to-day practice.

What's included within your ticket:

  • 2.5-hour live webinar covering clinical guidelines, evidence, practical strategies, and resources for therapy. Includes a case study with opportunities to apply your learning throughout.
  • Interactive workbook to use during the presentation (with templates ready for clinical use).
  • Bonus 30-minute Q&A session for tailored discussion and questions.
  • Access to the webinar recording for 45 days following the event.
